The medicalization of childbirth

(NaturalNews) Our overzealous medical community has taken the blessed event of childbirth and turned it into a medical procedure with a whole different set of risks and side effects. This medicalization of childbirth turns our newborns into medical experiments and permanently hooks them into a life of medical dependency.

Where it begins

The assault on the infant begins with the invasive ultrasound. The FDA warned in 2004, "ultrasound is a form of energy, and even at low levels, laboratory studies have shown it can produce physical effect in tissue, such as jarring vibrations and a rise in temperature." These temperature increases can cause birth defects and result in central nervous system damage. A large randomized trial conducted by the RADIUS Study Group found the use of ultrasound did not result in improved outcome in pregnancies.

Wayne Rooney can be inspiration says Hodgson

Roy Hodgson wants Wayne Rooney to be England's inspiration as they attempt to seal a place in the last eight.
England only require a draw against Ukraine in Donetsk's Donbass Arena on Tuesday to qualify from Group D.
But Hodgson refuses to play for a point and believes Rooney's return can lift England to new heights.
"His attitude was perfect in training sessions. He has been very lively, energetic and enthusiastic. That's a positive," Hodgson told BBC Sport.
Rooney's sending off in Montenegro last October meant he was forced to sit on the sidelines as England drew 1-1 with France and beat Sweden 3-2 in their opening two games.
Hodgson is expected to bring the Manchester United player straight back into his team tonight after suggesting his influence on the England side could be similiar to Pele's inspirational performances for Brazil in major tournaments.

Portugal break England hearts

Portugal 2-2 England (AET)
(Portugal go through 6-5 on penalties)

Portugal reached the semi-finals with a 6-5 penalty shoot-out win over England.

David Beckham fired England's first one over, and though Rui Costa missed soon after, keeper Ricardo saved from Darius Vassell then scored the winner himself.

Michael Owen put England ahead after a Costinha error, but Helder Postiga made it 1-1 before Sol Campbell had a 90th- minute goal controversially ruled out.

Rui Costa's extra-time scorcher put the hosts ahead, but Frank Lampard turned sharply and scored to force penalties.

However, the shoot-out went the way of the hosts, leaving England to go out of a major tournament on penalties for the fourth time.
